An amendment to extend the June 30 closing deadline has been added to the American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes Act of 2010, HR 4213. If passed the new deadline would be September 30.

There are apparently 180,000 potentionally impacted buyers who may not meet the June 30 deadline.

This extension does not allow for new buyers with new contracts. It only applies to qualified home buyers who were under contract by April 30.
